The Mayor of Cehegín, José Rafael Rocamora, the Mayor of Calasparra, José Vélez, and the Councilor for Works and Services Ismael Abellán, held a meeting today with the Minister of Water, Agriculture and Environment of the Region of Murcia, Adela Martínez-Cachá, which has exposed the problem of the installation of landfill in the municipality, requested by the company 3RS Gestión MA SOSTENIBLE, SL
This meeting explained to the Councilor the opposition of Cehegín City Council to the installation of the landfill for recycling and disposal of non-hazardous waste, as well as the extension and substantial modification of the Integrated Environmental Authorization to treat municipal solid waste in the so-called Site of the Sierra de la Puerta, which would affect the districts of Valentín and Canara, as well as, by extension, the entire municipality of Cehegín.
This opposition has been recorded and has been done unanimously in the various meetings held with municipal groups of the Municipal Corporation, which ratified in a Plenary agreement last Monday, December 19, 2016, as well as the City Council Of Calasparra and all the associations of neighbors and pedáneos of the nuclei close to this environment.
The Councilor expressed her solidarity with the position of the Town Councils and showed their full willingness to collaborate with the consistories to solve this problem.
