From the Popular Party of Cehegín we want to communicate to all the neighbors of Cehegín, and in a very special way to those of the Pedanías de Valentín, Canara and El Campillo de los Jiménez, that what was initially handled by the City Council ruled by the Partido Popular, and with our mayor at that time, José Soria García, in the vicinity of the Argos Reservoir, at the foot of the Sierra de la Puerta was a recycling plant for non-hazardous waste, especially, and is what ever Was talked about, construction waste or the like.

Since 2006 meetings have been held with the municipalities of Calasparra, Caravaca, Moratalla and Cehegín to highlight the need for the installation of an inert waste plant that will solve the problems of this type of spills that nobody knew where to deposit and for Consequently they went to any corner of our municipal terms.

The promoter company now intends to make a modification of the initial project where they can also take solid urban waste, ie the garbage of the houses, which we all deposit at night in the green containers and for this has requested a modification to the different General Directorates of our Autonomous Community wanting to ignore the indications and refusal of the City Council to authorize this modification and extension of the products to be treated.

The Popular Party of Cehegín and its Municipal Group at the head are studying technically and legally all the files and flatly refuse to the extension requested by the company;

"WE DO NOT WANT A WASTE OF WASTE IN OUR MUNICIPALITY", and also along with the other political groups in the City and protected by neighborhood associations, we have requested a revision of the first phase already approved in case it is susceptible of being rejected, since We understand that the promoter company is not now proceeding nor was it previously with the good faith that a project of this type requires.

In a short time, a joint motion by all the political groups in plenary of the City Council will be discussed, in which the Popular Party will manifest its resounding opposition to a project that at no time resembles that initially contemplated by the company.
