Yesterday, and in the Javier Miñano Complex of the town, there was the VI Spanish Winter Promotion Championship, which had the best young marchers in the country and future elite athletes.
More than three hundred marchers came from all over Spain, accompanied by their trainers and relatives who packed these facilities.
This event, which was attended by the Mayor of Cehegín, José Rafael Rocamora, and Councilor for Sports, Joaquín López, who presented the trophies, was organized by the delegation of the RFEA and the Murcia Federation of Athletics, and Is part of the events that the Cehegín Atletico Club is preparing for the celebration of its thirty-five years of history.
The same, counted also with the collaboration of the City council and its mentioned council of Sports.
In this great event of the sport was also present the president of the Federation of Athletics Juanma Molina, as well as those responsible for Cehegín Atletico, Juan Martinez and Rosendo Berengüí.
The test had the modalities of Cadet, Junior and Junior, female and male, and was disputed on track according to different distances and categories.
Parallel to this test, and in commemoration of those thirty-five years of the foundation of the Athletic Cehegín, a competition of regional and interprovincial march was realized.
The mayor of Cehegín highlighted the "successful participation of this national event, which is a sporting event that, once again, transcends sports in our municipality and becomes a social event and is a good excuse to be in Cehegín, to Know our locality, and to feel like returning to it "
The winners in the national, according to the categories, were, in the female cadet, with 3,000 meters, Celia Vílchez (CAP Alcobendas).
In the cadet male category, over a distance of 5,000 meters, the winner was Jorge Luis Hidalgo.
In the test for women, the winner was Ana Pulgarín.
In the female junior category, the victory would fall to the athlete Marina Peña.
In junior men's category the win would be for the acetazón José Manuel Pérez.
The Open 5.000 meters category in both men's and women's absolute category was attended by numerous athletes from all over Spain, most notably the international Amanda Cano, who rose with the absolute victory, while the Albacete María Larios would be second and Melisa Sánchez would enter third position.
In the men's test, Iván Pajuelo of Extremadura crossed the finish line in the first place.
