The event is held in Cehegin this weekend, is part of the Spain Ultra Cup, is scoring for the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc and will have participants from thirty nationalities
The UCAM Falco Trail HG 2016 is a mountain track test registered in the ITRA (International Trail Running Association), the largest international body responsible for controlling and coordinating everything concerning this modality.
This great event for the Region of Murcia will last four days (from 1 to 4 December) and will take place in Cehegín, where many fans, various media around the world and major sports brands set sights.
It is an event belonging to the Spain Ultra Cup, a competition composed of five other races - this event closes the championship - and is also scoring to get the participation in the mythical Ultra Trail of Mont Blanc, specifically three of the fifteen points are at stake For the classification to this test.
This last fact and the peculiar route that compose it, has attributed to the UCAM Falco Trail HG a great prestige, since during these six years it has managed to gather the most important athletes of the world in this modality.
The first two days, Thursday and Friday, will be held conferences, presentations, book signings, interviews, live programs and press conferences, among many other activities, with the intention of promoting the sport and giving a greater category to the event.
Everything will revolve around a large fair of the corridor composed by about fifty booth of different typologies.
On Saturday will be held the Ultra Resistance test that will be 100 kilometers and will have more than 5,000 meters of positive gradient, a novelty this year that is exclusive for those athletes who can prove an experience in tests of similar hardness.
Also on Sunday will be the 45-kilometer marathon, the event's premier event, whose winner and record of last year's edition was the Moroccan Zaid Ait Malek, along with the Portuguese runner Ester Alves.
In addition, a test of 16 kilometers will be made suitable for all the public, and will also have room in this event the traditional infancy races in which children from the three years of age will be able to participate.
In total, approximately 2,300 athletes from thirty different nationalities will participate, summing up the participation in the three core events of the event.
Among them are the current world champions Luis Alberto Hernando and Maite Maiora, along with some of the most valued names of this discipline such as Kim Collison (Great Britain), Tim Pleijte (Holland), André Jonsson (Sweden), Pedro Bianco (Spain), Nuno Silva (Portugal), Simon Grimstrup (Denmark), Silvia Oliveri (Italy), Mercedes Pila (Ecuador) and three components of the Spanish National Team runner-up, Pau Capell, Tere Nimes And Laia Cañes.
As a novelty of this edition and thanks to the collaboration of Cehegin City Council, UCAM (Catholic University of Murcia) and the Directorates General of Tourism and Sports of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, the event will feature a bus line That connect the city center with the different points of the test route, for the use and enjoyment of all the fans who wish to attend to witness it live.
