The Council of Government has approved, at the proposal of the Ministry of Development and Infrastructures, a grant for a total value of 140,000 euros to Cehegín City Council to carry out urbanization works in the historic area of ​​the town.
The aim is to improve the public spaces of an area previously delimited by the Town Hall of Cehegín, which affects the commercial area of ​​the center and the neighborhoods of San Cristóbal, San Antonio, Las Maravillas or Convent, and San Juan Or the bullring.
The works are part of an integral action for the recovery of the heart of the city with the rehabilitation of houses and the adaptation of urban spaces, and are included in the line of aid of the Area of ​​Regeneration and Urban Renewal (ARRU) of the current Plan Of Housing.
It will act in the urban tissues and degraded areas of the municipality for being associated with situations of social exclusion, with the aim of achieving its recovery and integration and improve the living conditions of its neighbors.
This subsidy of 140,000 euros is added to the amounts allocated by the City Council for the same purpose and totaling 400,000 euros.
The ARRU of the municipality, which includes aid for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of 56 homes, has had a global investment of the three administrations and private individuals of 2.4 million euros.
