The mayors of the municipalities belonging to the Northwest Region, Mula, Juan Jesús Moreno;
Bullas, María Dolores Muñoz;
Caravaca de la Cruz, José Moreno;
And Cehegín, José Rafael Rocamora, have proposed to the Parliamentary Groups of the Regional Assembly a series of measures to solve the inconveniences derived from the financing of the Northwest Motorway through the formula of 'shadow toll'.
Specifically, the mayor of Cehegín, José Rafael Rocamora, explained that budgets are allocated € 2.6 million annually to finance the Northwest motorway and that the real investment of the municipalities is "less than Regional average ", since that money is perceived as territorial expense.
The only time it has been financed in the region by this shadow toll system has been the Northwest, has been explained by the Mayor, while in other areas the infrastructure has been financed from the regional budget ".
Among the measures proposed is "the creation of a compensation fund that, over several years, will allow us to recover the investment that we have not been receiving and that this depreciation is not recorded as a territorial expense."
