The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has developed the operation 'BRAILLE', an investigation established to clarify a robbery with violence committed against an elderly person in the public road of Cehegín, which has ended with the arrest of two young men as suspects Authors of the fact investigated and another attempted robbery in the victim's home.
In addition they have recovered all the effects subtracted to the victim during the robbery.
At the end of last October, a violent robbery of an elderly woman took place on a street in the town of Cehegín.
The victim was assaulted in the back to snatch the bag he carried.
Due to the struggle with the authors, this one fell to the ground and suffered serious injuries for which it had to be attended, in the first instance by agents of the Local Police and of the Civil Guard of the locality, as well as sanitary personnel.
She was finally transferred to a hospital where she was admitted and subsequently underwent surgery.
Following the robbery commission, civil guards specialized in citizen security prevention initiated the corresponding investigation with the objective to clarify the criminal fact with the identification and detention of its authors and, if possible, the recovery of the effects subtracted from the victim.
As a result of the research carried out and after the analysis of the information collected, the Benemérita managed to identify one of the young people who was allegedly behind the theft.
He was a well-known delinquent arrested earlier this year because of his alleged links to several robberies with force and drug trafficking and that he had recently been released from prison.
Shortly afterwards the identity of the collaborator of the experienced delinquent, a young person also resident of the locality, was ascertained.
Once obtained all the necessary indications, the Civil Guard established a search device on the two suspects that has concluded with their location, arrest and subsequent prosecution as alleged perpetrators of robbery with violence and intimidation.
During the arrests, the agents have recovered all the objects stolen from the victim and, in addition, have been able to confirm that the two arrested planned to commit an imminent robbery in the victim's home taking advantage of the keys of the property, A criminal fact that has been frustrated by the development of the operation.
For this reason, the detainees are also attributed the alleged perpetrator of robbery with force in housing in an attempt.
Spanish detainees, aged 24 and 19, residents of Cehegín and one of them with numerous antecedents for similar crimes, along with the recovered effects and the diligences instructed, have been made available to the Court of Instruction number 2 of Caravaca de la Cruz (Murcia).
