When August reaches Ecuador, the cehegineras Canara districts and El Chaparral celebrate their festivities in honor of the Virgen de la Peña and Our Lady of the Assumption, respectively.
This was reported by the mayor of Celebration, Ana Maria Molina, whose council is working in these emblematic celebrations.
In Canara, acts begin next Sunday, August 14, with the transfer of the Virgen de la Peña from its sanctuary in the mountain to the church of the population.
The image of the Patroness remain in the village until Sunday August 21, when his rise conclude the holidays this year.
But before that day people will celebrate their traditional confinements and exhibitions of wild cattle on 15, 16, 17 and 18 August.
Also this year highlights the performance of "The Hungarian" which will show the best of his repertoire on August 17, at 24:00 hours.
In addition, the annual visit of the Virgen de la Peña to Canara religious celebrations complete with a wreath huertana Mass, fireworks and food tasting.
All acts with which residents and visitors enjoy a few days of fun and conviviality.
In El Chaparral, the big day of the festivities will be the August 15 celebration of the Assumption, the day which will take place a wreath to the patron followed by a mass and a procession of the image of the Virgin.
The residents of this hamlet will also enjoy the crumbs contest a foam party, musical performances, fireworks and popular rice dishes, activities will happen throughout these days.
