The Councillor for Health of the City of Cehegín, Antonia Fernández Nieto, has appealed to the general public, in these summer months, aimed at it aware of the safety of the food we eat and the responsibility that we have to buy them "so, he pointed out, confidence in supermarkets and reviewing its labeling. We also have to take special care in their conservation, respecting the required food temperatures."
The mayor, also recalled the food safety campaign that is conducting the Ministry of Health, through which has launched increased hygiene and health control bars and food trucks.
This will take place until 15 September and especially in coastal areas.
The summer months are a particularly critical time, because high temperatures favor the growth of microorganisms.
Also, at this time there is a greater tendency to eat away from home.
Therefore, the Spanish Agency for Consumer Food Safety and Nutrition recommends observing the following rules, based on the Golden Rules for hygienic food preparation of the World Health Organization.
The adoption of these simple precautions will prevent many diseases caused by improper handling or storage of food.
1. Eat foods that have been treated or handled hygienically.
2. Cook food properly.
3. Consume foods immediately after cooking.
4. A cooked food, is a sanitized food.
5. Heat sufficiently cooked food.
6. Avoid contact between raw and cooked foods.
7. To ensure proper hygiene of the person who will handle food and proper cleaning all kitchen surfaces.
8. Protect foods from insects, rodents and pets.
9. Use only drinking water.
10. Do not consume perishable foods are exposed to room temperature.
