Iberdrola and the municipality of Cehegín have signed an agreement by which they undertake to protect vulnerable customers in this municipality.
The agreement was ratified this morning by the mayor of Cehegín, Jose Rafael Rocamora, and the sales manager of Iberdrola in Murcia, Itziar Pérez Lledó, who was accompanied by the institutional representative of Iberdrola in the region, Patricio Valverde.
The event was also attended by the Councillor for Social Services City of Cehegín, Antonia Fernández Nieto.
The object of the sealed today, under the commitment of both institutions to the principles of solidarity and community service, agreement is to establish the necessary coordination mechanisms face to try to avoid suspension of electricity and / or gas non-payment of the bill to economically disadvantaged citizens Cehegín or ensure their immediate reinstatement in the case has already proceeded to the suspension.
The protection to which the agreement relates is applicable to all customers who have contracted the electricity and / or gas from its usual home with Iberdrola and may, after technical evaluation of professional staff, be beneficiaries of an economic benefit intended attention to basic subsistence needs in social emergencies.
The mayor of Social Services explained that the Social Workers of the City Council are available to any citizen so that he can answer questions about such aid and the requirements that must be met.
