The Minister of Health, Encarna Guillen, signed yesterday with the mayor of Cehegín, Jose Rafael Rocamora, the renewal of the agreement with the city to develop the Active program that promotes physical activity to promote healthy lifestyles, manage chronic diseases and combat physical inactivity and obesity.
At the ceremony, also they attended by the Councillor for Health, Antonia Fernández Nieto and the mayor of Sports, Joaquín López Carreño;
Managing Murciano Health Service Agulló Francisco Roca;
the General Director of Planning, Maria Teresa Martinez Ros;
Director of the Northwest Area IV, Mercedes Barba, as well as medical and nursing Cehegín Health Center coordinators.
We recall that the Active program is an initiative of the Directorate General of Health Planning, Research, Pharmacy and Citizen of the Ministry of Health, conducted in collaboration with the Foundation (FFIS) Training and Health Research, which participating primary care centers and municipalities, to promote physical activity and encourage healthy lifestyles among citizens.
The municipality of Cehegín has an estimated population of 15,794 inhabitants, 6,742 of which are in the age group between 35 and 65 years in serving the Activa program.
Physical activity program takes place in blocks of 30 sessions spread over 3 per week, covering a minimum of 10 weeks and will take place in two sports spaces donated by the city of Cehegín.
Classes are taught graduates in Science of Physical Activity and Sport, hired and trained for this activity for proper implementation through the FFIS.
On the other hand, taking advantage of the visit of the highest health authority in the region, the Councillor for Health of the City of Cehegín has dealt with various issues of interest to the municipality and the rest of the region, including the mayor was interested in putting up Health Councils which, as we recall, it was approved operation last April by the Regional Assembly.
The Minister said that soon, these participatory bodies begin to function.
The Minister also used his visit to have a meeting with Bethany Center and see firsthand the Cehegín Health Center.
