Within the Lecture Series on Heritage, organized by the Department of Culture, whose head is Edil Maravillas Fernández García, will take place on Thursday, June 2, the second conference of the four that have been announced.
All of them are in the Archaeological Museum and will begin at 20:30.
In the morning, Antonio Poveda Navarro, Professor of Ancient History at the University of Alicante and current Director of the Archaeological Museum of Elda, will speak on "The Cross of Begastri".
We recall that the so-called Cross of the monogramáticas Begastri is called, with a length of 39.5 cm and 31.8 wingspan.
The characteristics of it leading specialists to give a chronology around the sixth or early seventh century.
Its importance lies both in the time it was forged, seniority, such as information that can contribute on the issue of Christianity in the local world of Visigoth period.
