The Local Coordination Committee against Gender Violence has held one of its regular meetings every three months to analyze and prevent gender violence, through coordination between different agencies, as explained by the Councillor for Social Services, Women Equality and Health of the City of Cehegín, Antonia Fernández Nieto.
The main conclusion, the mayor explained that "with respect to the last meeting, and compared to the time last year this month, have been reduced by 33% our municipality cases of gender violence".
The table is made up of the Councillor said, the City Council Public Safety, Joaquín López Carreño, Councillor of Education, Maravillas Fernández, representatives of Social Services, CAVI, Health Center Cehegín, Guardia Civil, Local Police and Technique Department of Women.
In it, as has been pointed out, it has analyzed the current situation of gender violence in Cehegín and there have been a number of proposals for prevention, education, and performance against this social scourge.
Some of these initiatives, as pointed Councilwoman, "will be the performing activities in the Institutes of the town, through preventive talks on gender violence, as well as the launch of an awareness campaign and awareness to this problem, in collaboration with CAVI, and will be disseminated through the media ".
We recall that the table aims to improve early detection of cases, promote coordination of agents, actions and resources;
provide care and agile response to victims, better protect high risk victims, and inform and sensitize professionals and citizens.
