The Ministry of Water, Agriculture and Environment has awarded the City of Cehegin in the eighth edition of the awards for Sustainable Development in the category of Environmental Education, the 'Middle Ambientados' project began last year with the previous government team Popular Party through the Department of Environment.

The Ministry of Water, Agriculture and Environment published in the BORM the winners of the eighth Sustainable Development Awards.
These awards were created to raise awareness of voluntary efforts in environmental performing companies, associations and institutions.
The jury was composed of representatives of universities and organizations representing economic and social activity in the region.
They are prizes of honor, which do not involve funding.
Winners receive a diploma, and can distribute and publish this award on letterheads, advertisements and reports, reinforcing its corporate image in front of others who do not make these efforts in environmental responsibility.
In the area of ​​eco-management (sustainable environmental management), the joint winners are Ecomensajeros (Murcia Ciclomensajería SLU), a pioneer in Couriers hundred percent free carbon;
and Integrated System Restart for the implementation of the Integrated Electrical and electronic equipment.
In the form of eco-efficiency was awarded ex aequo in Aczia Biogas SL, the project biogas plant for the recovery of livestock products to be implemented in Alhama and projects selected within the 'Climate' by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment ;
and Munoz Galvez SA Breweries, to develop the 'WaterReuse' project to eliminate pollution in the waters, allowing the reuse of up to 95 percent of the processed water.
The winner of the Eco-design is Hero Spain SA, for its recyclable packaging design.
In the form of eco-innovation is award is for the Polytechnic University of Cartagena and Sphere Solar SL for the implementation of the first 'fotolinera' in the Region of Murcia.
Lead on climate change
The award for reducing and offsetting and voluntary emission reduction of greenhouse gases (GHGs) has been for the Association of Producers-Exporters of Fruits and Vegetables in the Region of Murcia (Proexport) for the initiatives for the sector regional horticultural use against the plastic packaging cardboard, representing a lower CO2 emissions and a saving of 63.7 million euros / year.
The award for the efforts in generating and maintaining drains is for Red Eléctrica de Spain SA, to include in the 'forest grid' to the Sierra del Molino in Calasparra, getting a sump of 18 hectares with 22,000 trees and shrubs.
The winner of the type of initiatives to adapt to the impacts of climate change is the Business Association of Renewable Energy and Energy Saving of the Region of Murcia (Aremur), for the work and initiatives for the implementation of solar energy, key strategic element for the adaptation of the region to climate change in a scenario of low-carbon economy.
In the category of business communications efforts on carbon accounting (balance sheets and carbon footprint), former winners quo are Disfrimur SL, the first major company in the region to make public their carbon footprint;
Triodos Bank, for its ecohipoteca, which is to obtain lower interest when minors are potential emissions of CO2 of housing depending on the energy rating of departure;
and Emmaus, for their assistance to the circular economy and the use of carbon footprint calculators applied to furniture and discarded everyday products getting your fix and recovery.
Corporate Social Responsibility
In the category of corporate social responsibility it is the award ex aequo to the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, for its efforts in corporate social responsibility applied to the fight against climate change and promoting low-carbon economy;
for the Association for the integration of people with intellectual disabilities (PEEM) and the collective association parentheses, develop training for the maintenance of parks and gardens, environmental awareness and resources to finding and improving employment in the project scarecrow, which aims to rehabilitate and start production from an area of ​​the municipal nursery Mayayo;

Environmental education
In the form of environmental education within the category environmental education initiatives in education is awarded to the University of Murcia to develop the figure of the organic garden, with 23 plots attached, made available to the university community (teachers , students and staff).
In the category of environmental education at the municipal level, the winner is the City of Cehegín for the implementation of the environmental education program 'medioambientados'.

The award for environmental education initiatives for citizens and consumers is for the hiker Group Lorca's Carrasca boost reforestation in the castle of Lorca and promote reforestation and environmental education initiative among citizens.
Finally, the jury awarded a special mention to the Nature Protection Service (SEPRONA) of the Guardia Civil for lifetime achievement in the task of ensuring the conservation of nature and the environment.
