Cehegín receives more than 4.5 million State Funds 2009-2010
The Government delegate, Rafael González Tovar, along Cehegín Mayor Jose Soria García, inaugurated this morning the refurbishment of the Paseo de la Concepción in this town that have been funded by the Government of Spain through the State Fund, 2009 for an amount of 460,000 euros.
The works have involved the placement of a new granite paving stones on the road both as side sidewalks and installation of bollards around the perimeter to protect the pedestrian walkways.
Moreover, there has been renewed street lighting by installing 24 units of artistic lamps.
Tovar Gonzalez recalled that the City of Cehegín received from the State Fund for 2009 2.796.061 euros to be spent on 18 projects of investment in municipal works.
These projects have created 96 new jobs, of which 63 are newly created and 33 of persons within the 14 companies awarded.
Finally, the government delegate explained that the council has received for 2010 a new economic boost from the Government of Spain of 1.7 million that the city used to fund 6 projects of investment in construction and 5 social spending programs.
In all, aim to create 36 new jobs, maintain 26 additional jobs and social programs benefiting 30 people dependent on the municipality.
"In short" Tovar-Gonzalez noted a significant investment of President Zapatero to maintain employment in these difficult times and ensure social protection in the township. In addition to being the largest investment in Cehegín for any government to work municipal jurisdiction. "
