The professors of the University of Murcia Salvador Ruiz and Carmen Hidalgo, next to the council for New Technologies of the town, Francisco in April, presented the results of the sociological study conducted in Cehegín, on Internet use.
The data obtained have been very enlightening, calling for "good" situation in which the town lies on the use of Internet and new technologies, being the weaker 'woman', 'elderly' and 'hamlets'.
In summary, the most important Cehegín study were as follows:
- 63.3% of cehegineros have a computer.
- The 55.8% of these have Internet.
- Those who have no say it is because "no need" or "do not know how it works."
- 60.3% had ever used the Internet.
- 49.3% use the Internet for information.
- 30.5% use it to download forms.
- 18.4%, to submit forms.
- 25.5% know that there are programs to promote Internet use.
- 81.5% of firms have a computer.
- 74.1% of them have internet.
- 53.8% of them interacts with the public administration.
- And 26.4% of businesses have a website.
With data in hand, Francisco April explained that "this study will serve to compare us with that once we have completed the Digital City project Cehegín. Additionally we will highlight those areas that are more disconnected in terms of new technologies ".
Salvador Ruiz, meanwhile, thanked the cooperation of the Institute Alquipir, saying that "we have compiled some data as professional as if he had a consultant."
He has also added that "we are in a situation Cehegín good compared to the national scene, but we must improve these outcomes and get ahead of the rest of Spain. Still, this is a job that pays off in the medium to long term, that until four or five years there will be a really significant development. "
