The council's Environment and Social Services, María Dolores Carrasco and Maria Isabel Martínez, respectively, have reported Cehegín installation of ten new containers for the collection of clothes, used shoes and toys, which bind to the 14 existing .
With the installation of these new containers is to provide citizens with the task of depositing clothing, shoes and toys they no longer used, with two clear objectives: to contribute environmentally to reduce the volume of waste that end up in the landfill, and socially, to allow poor people access to these objects are discarded.
The material collected in the containers was withdrawn by the Association Abraham Project, which repairs and is selling at flea markets for clothes that can be used, more deteriorated by recycling, turning them into other objects, all made people at risk of social exclusion.
Clothing containers are located in the streets Begastri, San Cristobal, Salvador García Jiménez, San Agustin, Gran Via, Dr. Flemming, Honduras, Ameigenda Caamaño, José Hierro and Joan Miró and Plaza Pepin Liria, in the Slope Olivar, in Station Road at the Highway of Murcia, in the Industrial El almarjal in the EcoPark and in the districts of Canara, Valentín, El Chaparral, Canada de Canara and Campillo de los Jiménez.
