The mayor of Cehegín, Alicia del Amor, the Councilor for Celebrations, Juan Martínez, as well as members of the Government Team, have been this afternoon in the Plaza del Alpargatero in the lighting of the special Christmas lighting, which will mark the beginning of the next Christmas dates.Like last year, the Christmas lights will adorn and illuminate the main streets, squares and buildings of Cehegín, in order, in turn, to promote and boost Christmas shopping in local businesses.Alicia del Amor, who thanked the Department of Celebrations and its Events team for the great work, as well as that of Works and Services, stated that "despite the current circumstances, the Government Team has opted to maintain the Christmas lighting to bring the illusion to all citizens, especially the little ones, but also thinking about small businesses to encourage sales in a sector that is going through very difficult times ”.A lighting that changes every year, in its preparation, and in which on this occasion we have as a novelty the lighting of the atrium of the Convent with new elements.
At the same time, the installation of six-meter illuminated Christmas trees has been maintained in the San Juan neighborhood, San Antonio neighborhood, Plaza de la Iglesia, Valentín and Canara.A symbolic way of reaching different parts of Cehegín that, together with the programming that is being developed, marked by the restrictions we are experiencing, will try to bring the illusion and magic of these dates to our entire town.
