Yesterday, Friday, November 27, the Local Security Board of the municipality of Cehegín was held, under the presidency of the Mayor Alicia Del Amor Galo, together with the Secretary General of the Government Delegation, Francisco Jiménez, and with the assistance of the Councilor for Citizen Security, Jerónimo Moya, the Councilor for Services, Pedro Lorencio, a representative of the General Directorate of Citizen Security and Emergencies of the CA of Murcia, the Captain of the 3rd.
Civil Guard Company, together with the Commander of the local post, the Chief Commissioner of the Local Police, as well as the Secretary of the Corporation.In the Agenda of the meeting, the current situation of the municipality with respect to citizen security was addressed, verifying in this sense that in the months that have elapsed this year, as a result of the police actions carried out and the prevention efforts coordinated by separate police forces , there has been a significant decrease in the crimes committed, in order to a decrease of thirty percent compared to 2019.Another point to be discussed was the measures adopted to comply with the health and mobility restriction prescriptions derived from the COVID-19 crisis and imposed by the health authorities.
In this regard, the Chief of the Local Police reported on the police actions that are being carried out in the municipality, as well as the agreement adopted with the Caravaca de la Cruz Local Police Headquarters to carry out joint controls on the border of the municipal terms of the respective municipalities, in order to avoid unjustified movements between localities.Regarding the complaints made by the Local Police in this matter and since the obligation to use a mask was decreed, as well as other obligations and restrictions imposed by the Delegated Authority, such as restrictions on inter-municipal mobility, the Chief of Local Police reported that from last July to date, a total of 173 complaints have been imposed, with the consequent sanction proposal by the Health Authority.Both the General Secretariat of the Government Delegation, the Mayor's Office of the City Council and its Department of Citizen Security, recognized the work carried out by the Civil Guard and Local Police of the town and their respective commands, in order to preserve the security and well-being of the neighbors, thanks to the dedication and effective collaboration and coordination of their respective police forces and they were encouraged to continue in this line of work due to the good results obtained.The mayor of Cehegín, Alicia del Amor, for her part, took advantage of this meeting “to urge the Government Delegation to provide more members of the Civil Guard to towns like ours in the northwest region, since the existing reinforcements In recent months, they are oriented almost exclusively to the temporary center for immigrants, which is located in the facilities of the Pantano del Cenajo, so cities like ours are depleted in terms of the human resources necessary to comply with the restrictions imposed by this pandemic, whether in terms of police controls, as well as for any supervening incidence of these rules established by the authorities "
