Cehegín has joined the 'European Day of Rock Art' today.
Under the slogan, 'Territorio Rupestre' Cehegín, like the municipalities that treasure these jewels of history, has displayed a banner in the Palacio de los Fajardo that symbolizes this day.The event was attended by the Mayor of Cehegín, Alicia del Amor, the First Deputy Mayor, Jerónimo Moya, the Councilor for Culture, Juan Martínez, who was in charge of reading the manifesto, the Mayor of Works and Services , Pedro Lorencio, as well as the Director of the Archaeological Museum, Francisco Peñalver,The mayor explained that "with this simple act, the City Council of Cehegín has adhered to the European Day of Rock Art, in an initiative promoted by the Association of Friends of Rock Art of the Region of Murcia."“I therefore want, he has continued to affirm, to thank the effort of this group that has managed to unite all the administrations so that this day is vindicated and that a singular and unrepeatable asset is valued which is part of our Cultural and Historical Heritage .
These types of actions, to value this legacy, are essential for us to continue promoting all kinds of initiatives that allow their conservation and bequeath them to future generations ”.
