The Councilor for Citizen Security Jerónimo Moya, has informed the media that Cehegín Local Police agents detained a 25-year-old resident of the town, a Spanish national, as the alleged perpetrator on Friday, August 28.
of a crime of theft and another crime of fraud, the latter committed by using a credit card stolen from the victim.The Local Police learned of the production of a criminal act perpetrated inside a house in the town, a place where various jewels, a personal computer and mountain bikes, among other assets, had been stolen, as well as, apparently, a bank card that was later used, at least twenty times, to make purchases in local shops.The local agents began the LEICO operation, carrying out investigations in order to locate the stolen objects, finally being found in the possession of third parties who had bought them, and may have incurred criminal liability for receiving objects from a crime against the property.The agents also located jewels originating from this event, which had been sold by the alleged perpetrator to an establishment "Compra Oro", in the neighboring town of Caravaca de la Cruz.Once the effects were recovered and handed over to their rightful owner, the Local Police set out to take steps to link the fraudulent purchases made with the bank card also stolen from the victim, being able to relate several of them as made by the alleged perpetrator.The detainee as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of theft and another of fraud, together with the procedures carried out, were made available to the Civil Guard of the town for delivery to the Caravaca de la Cruz Guard Court.
