Continuing with the work of police control and surveillance for the eradication of drug trafficking in the Municipality, the Cehegín Local Police proceeded last Tuesday, August 25, to arrest a man and a woman, residents of Caravaca de La Cruz, of Bulgarian nationality, aged 35 and 33 respectively, both as alleged perpetrators of a crime against public health, for possession of HEROIN for trafficking.According to sources from the Department of Police and Citizen Security of the City Council of Cehegín, led by Jerónimo Moya, the Local Police had collected information that pointed out that those now detained were moving from the neighboring town of Caravaca to the rest of the municipalities of the Region and other of the region, in order to distribute doses of narcotic substance, cocaine and heroin, to the various users.

This fact had been reliably verified by local agents in Cehegín, for which reason the Police Headquarters ordered the operation called “TURQUELLA”, in order to verify the alleged drug trafficking, an operation that culminated last Tuesday afternoon , when the vehicle was followed and intervened with its occupants when, apparently,They were preparing to deliver the narcotic substance in the locality, proceeding to search and search them, seizing a total of 43 pieces of paper perfectly arranged for distribution and sale, of a substance that tested positive for heroin in the drogotest, as well as money in cash and other effects related to drug addiction.Those now detained, as alleged perpetrators of a crime of drug trafficking, of substances that seriously damage health (heroin), typified in article 368 of the Penal Code, can face, for these facts, a penalty of three to six years in prison.This arrest, along with those practiced in recent months for similar events, is part of the Plan developed by the Department of Citizen Security for the eradication of retail drug trafficking in the town, which the Local Police has been carrying out so satisfactorily .The detainees, the intervened substance, the related effects and the procedures carried out have been made available to the Caravaca de la Cruz Guard Court, which has ordered the entry into prison of these two people
