The president of the Community, Fernando López Miras, met today with the mayor of Cehegín, Alicia del Amor, in the framework of the round of contacts she is maintaining with those responsible for the municipalities of the 45 municipalities of the Region, where they addressed , among other matters, the situation of Cehegín's neighbor who has been held in Vietnam since last December.
"We will continue working from the regional Executive so that the Government of Spain, through the Directorate General of Consular Affairs, intensify the pressure and ensure that this neighbor can recover his passport as soon as possible and can return to Spain," said the counselor of the Presidency and Finance, Javier Celdrán, who explained that so far the regional government has made different efforts with the embassy of the Asian country in Madrid, the General Directorate of Spanish Abroad and Consular Affairs, under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Spain's embassy in Vietnam.
Likewise, the advisor Celdrán highlighted other matters discussed at the meeting, such as the designation of the municipality as Rural Wonder of Spain, which is why actions will be carried out to improve asphalting of roads and firm reinforcement projects in different rural roads.
In addition, during the meeting the evaluation actions that are being carried out by the Technical Unit of Educational Centers of the Ministry of Education and Culture in the Agrupado Rural College (CRA) Río Argos, in the district of Valentín, were addressed.
On the other hand, the Works and Services Plan of the Region of Murcia includes an investment of 314,000 euros for the municipality of Cehegín during this year 2020.
