Great success of this edition of the Ruta de la Tapa and the Cehegín Cocktail that ends with almost 110,000 drinks sold.
A figure that exceeds the past editions and confirms the 'good work' of the local hoteliers, and the success of the parallel activities that have turned the 12th Route into a festival of the senses.
From the association that groups them there is talk of "a satisfactory balance that encourages us to continue working to consolidate the sector and make Cehegín a Rural Wonder every year".
As for guided tours - one of the novelties of this year - highlights the increase in foreign tourists.
An example has been the 37 people from Sweden, Norway, Holland, Germany and Belgium who, last Friday, wanted to know the history and the most emblematic monuments of the municipality in the tourist offer 'The 7 Wonders of Cehegín'.
If we add the participants of all the weekends of the Route, the figure exceeds half a thousand.
A figure very similar to that reached by users of the Panoramic Bus.
And the Archaeological Museum also recorded peaks of 200 daily visits.
Among the national visitors are the Alicante, Almeria, Albacete, Lleida, Toledo, Zamoranos, Caceres, Cantabrian and Biscay.
And among those in the Region, dozens from 45 municipalities in Murcia.
Many of these people arrived in Cehegín by buses - more than 10 in the entire Route from Águilas, Alicante, Petrer, Almería ... - and many others in their own vehicles that were parked in the parking lots of the Plaza del Alpargatero and the Old Town
The majority passed through the Tourist Office, which, on occasion, was collapsed, especially at noon.
There were those who stayed all weekend in Cehegín, occupying 70% of the rural houses in the urban area and surroundings.
The Councilor for Tourism and Commerce, Loli Agudo, highlights "the success of the route thanks to the hoteliers and the good reception of the parallel activities organized by the City Council. We are very satisfied with the balance of the 'XII Route of the Tapa and the Cocktail 'of Cehegín and we will continue to support the Association of Commerce and Hospitality in all initiatives that help boost the sector, because that affects the local economy. Nor should we forget that the Route has been a good showcase to show that Cehegín it is the First Rural Wonder of Spain. Now, we invite the entire Region and the neighboring provinces to come to Cehegín to enjoy the Carnival of the Northwest. "
The Association of Commerce and Hospitality is already working on new initiatives to continue promoting the sector and offer customers better services.
