The Ruta de la Tapa and the Cocktail of Cehegín celebrates its XII edition, with the impulse of the newly released gastronomic capital in the Region of Murcia, on weekends between January 25 and February 23, with the participation of 22 local restaurants and bars.
The director of the Tourism Institute, Juan Francisco Martínez, together with the mayor of the municipality, Alicia del Amor, the president of the Association of Commerce and Hospitality of Cehegín, María José Sánchez, and the president of Hostemur, Jesús López, attended the event of presentation of the gastronomic event.
In this edition, participants in the initiative will be able to enjoy on weekends, including Fridays, the best tapas plus a cocktail or drink at the price of 2.50 euros.
The director of the Tourism Institute highlighted the importance that this event has for the hospitality and tourism sector, defining it as "a must for regional cuisine."
"The route is a perfect shuttle to promote the participating businesses and the cuisine of the Northwest, and also to retain many visitors during these days, which surely repeat during other times of the year," he said.
Martínez highlighted the regional government's commitment to this type of initiatives and the support for its promotion and dissemination, "even more so during this year in which Murcia and the entire Region take the witness as the Spanish capital of gastronomy," he said.
Complementary activities
Juan Francisco Martínez also celebrated the success of the tourist visits that have been programmed in a complementary way to this edition of the Cehegín Tapas Route, experiences designed to offer added value to the event.
As he indicated, "gastronomy works like a conductive thread that allows you to get closer to other attractions of the municipality," to which he recalled that he was chosen in the ranking of the 'Homeaway' portal as the Rural Wonder of Spain 2019.
The route is linked on this occasion to activities such as panoramic routes, concerts, visits to the old town and its monuments, declared a Historic-Artistic Site in 1982, markets and other demonstrations.
