The Ministry of Development and Infrastructure begins the last phase of the works to improve the road safety of the regional road RM-714, with the asphalting and signaling of the road of the new intersection of the road with the Cañada García road, in the hamlet Canara ceheginera.
The Minister of Development and Infrastructure, José Ramón Díez de Revenga, and the mayor of Cehegín, Alicia del Amor, today supervised the works of this regional route, which is the main access to farms and quarries in this municipality, from the road that It connects the towns of Caravaca and Calasparra.
The action, which with a regional investment of about 500,000 euros, will reinforce the road safety of the almost 5,000 drivers who travel daily on this route, of which 800 are heavy vehicles coming mainly from the ceheginean districts of Canara, El Campillo and The battery.
Ten of Revenga announced that the work will be completed before the end of the year, and explained that the new intersection "will improve visibility and turns at the crossroads from the road to the rural road", currently cut due to the danger at the point kilometer 57.7.
The intersection that has been projected is of type T, and will have central waiting and incorporation lanes to channel left and right turn movements.
There will also be an island to make the change of direction.
The road of the RM-714 road will have two lanes of circulation and a central lane for storage, waiting and incorporation, as well as exterior shoulders at the edges of the road.
The project also contemplates the conditioning of access to a quarry located on RM-714, at kilometer 58.8.
Like the previous intersection, it will be of type T, but it will not have the possibility of making turns to the left, although it will have speed change wedges that allow vehicles to access the quarry.
To allow the left turn of the vehicles coming from the Quarry and that want to go towards Calasparra, a turning branch has been projected.
