The General Director of Local Administration of the Region of Murcia, Francisco Abril, has visited the facilities of the Sports Center "Loli de Gea".

He has been accompanied by the mayor of Cehegín Alicia del Amor, as well as members of the Government Team.

This responds to the request for help from the mayor to finish the works of the Loli de Gea Sports Center, given the situation in which it has been after the completion of the conditioning works.

We remind you that, as Alicia del Amor explained, "today the works have not created any new space appropriate for sports and it is urgent to resolve this issue."

"Basically, he commented, it is an enveloping face that collects the entrance to changing rooms, small offices and a warehouse on the first floor, both floors connected with an elevator whose adaptation works were not contemplated in the investment. If the surface for the Sports practice has been increased by zero square meters today, it is clear that we must work focused on the important, that is, to solve the urgent needs of the cehegineros by creating accessible spaces for sports. "

From the City Council, the mayor has continued to specify, "this problem has been transferred to the DG of Local Administration since it has been the one that has financed the works carried out in the Loli de Gea through the Works and Services Plan".

Given this fact, the Director General has wanted to know first-hand the state in which this project has been and address with the Government Team that request for help so that as soon as possible the building can have sports use.

In addition, the mayor has announced that "from the City Council it is our intention to convert the warehouses attached to the pavilion, which have served to leave utensils and material of the Department of Works and Services, in sports spaces, for which we would need to invest about 160,000 euros, and with that we would respond to the important demand for sports activities of the cehegineros ".

The Director General has commented that "from the Autonomous Community, collaboration formulas will be studied, together with the City Council, to finalize and make these facilities available to citizens as soon as possible".
