The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, within the framework of the security device established on the occasion of the festivities of the town of Cehegín, has arrested two experienced criminals when they fled after committing a robbery in a restaurant in the municipality.
The Benemérita has recovered all the stolen money, several tenths of the national lottery, and has seized the tools used to commit the robbery, as well as the motorcycle with which they fled the place.
The action began in the early hours of yesterday (10), when agents of Prevention of Citizen Security were alerted of the possible robbery in an establishment of hospitality located on the highway that unites the municipalities of Cehegín and Calasparra, municipal term of Cehegín.
Two Patrols of the Corps went to the place to attend the warning and established a search device that allowed the location of two individuals aboard a motorcycle that circulated nearby.
The agents intercepted the vehicle and identified its occupants, which allowed them to verify that they were two experienced criminals, with a bulky criminal record for property crimes.
The examination of their belongings culminated in the recovery of about 400 euros in fractional currency, in addition to several tenths of the national lottery.
Several tools allegedly used to materialize the theft were also intervened, such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers and a mallet.
The ocular inspection of the restaurant allowed to detect that the suspects had accessed the premises after breaking one of the doors, as well as that both the money and the tenths intervened came from two drawers of the cash register and the recreational machine, which presented serious damages After being violated.
For all this they were arrested as alleged perpetrators of the crime of robbery with force.
These are two men, of Spanish nationality, 43 and 58 years old;
and neighbors of Cieza.
As can be seen from the investigation carried out below, they would have moved from their place of residence to the municipality of Cehegín, taking advantage of the massive influx of visitors on the occasion of their employer's parties, to commit the theft.
The detainees, the effects recovered and intervened, as well as the proceedings taken have been made available to the Court of Instruction of Caravaca de la Cruz (Murcia).
