Afemnor, the Association of Families and People with Mental Illness in the Northwest, has always had as its main objective to welcome and raise awareness among the general public in the face of the discrimination still suffered by people with mental health problems and to try to banish topics and prejudices that surround to these disorders.
Last week, the mayor of Cehegín, Alicia del Amor, and the ediles of Social Policy and Works and Services, María José de Maya and Pedro Lorencio, respectively, had a meeting with the members of this group in Cehegín.
Currently, they explained, this group works to improve the quality of life of these people and want to take a step further.
They are working to make the creation of a Special Employment Center a reality.
That, through this, it is favored that its users can have a job in an adapted labor framework and acquire skills that allow them to obtain it.
In this sense, the mayor of Cehegín said that "we will be at your disposal, and we will support all the actions carried out by this human group that strives for equality and solidarity, and we will soon see the fruits of this coordination."
