The Councilors of Sports and Youth;
and Culture and Environment, José Antonio Zafra and Juan Martínez, respectively, attended yesterday the opening of the first Camp that takes place in the facilities of the Coto Real de la Marina Lodge, between July 16 and 18.
The management of the same belongs to José Manuel Rubio.
This camp welcomes about twenty children, between 11 and 14 years old, who, during these three days, will enjoy nature excursions, water games, evening evenings, sports activities, etc.
We recall that the Autonomous Community ceded the use of this shelter to the City Council of Cehegín in 2011, a date also on which it was rehabilitated and inaugurated.
It is located in the heart of the Sierra de Burete, an extraordinary natural heritage with many animal and plant species, including a natural forest of strawberry trees, a natural pool of water and also numerous botanical trails
The building, an old forest house, was transformed into a shelter for the visitor's rest in the middle of nature, but with a clearconservationistvocation, ideal to carry out compatible and respectful activities with the environment, such as environmental volunteering activities, environmental education activities, hiking, observation of fauna and flora, courses on environmental issues, etc.
The hostel offers numerous possibilities to enjoy a few days of leisure and free time in this natural enclave.
It has two common bedrooms with 24 beds, showers and toilets, kitchen, multipurpose rooms, patios, and other services that facilitate the stay of groups of children or youth in camps and adults who want to spend a few days in contact with the environment at affordable prices.
