Citizens will request before the Plenary that the Consistory adhere to the agreement with the Autonomous Community for the improvement of educational centers.
This initiative, the result of a motion of Citizens approved unanimously in the Regional Assembly, will allow the local and regional administration to collaborate in improving the conditions of habitability, air conditioning and security in educational infrastructures.
This cooperation will be embodied in agreements so that the municipalities are responsible for the management and certification of the work, while the regional government would take over the financing.
The local orange spokesman, Jerónimo Moya, explained that the intention is that "the Consistory leaves approved with the maximum possible consensus a list of projects that could be financed through this formula that has driven Citizens, in order to streamline the work as maximum possible ".
In his opinion, in the case of Cehegín these "priority" works would include the Rural Armed Group Río Argos de Valentín, "which has required the strong protest of the educational community for the regional government to react."
Moya stressed that these agreements and this formula of agreements "will end the arbitrariness used in most cases by the Ministry of Education in the adequacy of their centers, sometimes prioritizing more political opportunity than the real urgency of the actions "
In addition, through these agreements, the City of Cehegín "may prioritize their needs and point them out, while the regional administration cedes the management and execution of the maintenance work, running the financing of it entirely by the Autonomous Community" .
