Citizens have managed to see their motion approved unanimously to provide the municipal media with a regulatory regulation.
The regulations will regulate from now on the radio station Más FM Begastri, as well as the municipal website or the accounts in social networks of the Consistory.
"The main impact of this regulation will be on the municipal radio, a medium at the center of the controversy after we denounced that there was no public tender for its awarding and the workers were not hired through a public offer of employment," highlighted the local spokesman, Jerónimo Moya.
The main objective of the regulation is to guarantee the principles of objectivity, plurality, veracity and impartiality in public media.
"We want the radio to be a public medium that is plural, objective and governed by journalistic and non-partisan principles," the orange spokesperson explained: "It should transfer to the cehegineros a truthful, plural and with different points of view, so that the citizen can contrast what is said to him, avoiding the partisan, interested and partial use that was made up to now of a half paid with the money of all ".
The regulation will regulate the use of social networks and the municipal website, which will not only serve as a loudspeaker for the government team as up to now, but will also include information related to opposition parties and their activities or actions.
"We hope that this regulation establishes the rules that guarantee the right of all municipal groups to participate and have a presence in the public media of the City of Cehegín, in order to guarantee respect for the separation between information and opinions", Moya has excelled.
The regulation contemplates the creation of a plural board of administration in which they will have a presence for all the parties with municipal representation in the Corporation, which will design the editorial line of the radio and will grant spaces on the grid for the different municipal groups.
Moya has used to criticize the "apathy" of the government team to implement this regulation, as it is now a year of approval, also unanimously and driven by Citizens, the motion for regularization of municipal radio and the creation of the regulatory regulation that has just been approved: "It is clear that the socialist government team of Mayor Rocamora did not want to lose control of the environment or resolve the open conflict with the workers of the municipal radio, in which recently a labor inspection has recognized the employment relationship of the two people who have been working on the radio since its creation twelve years ago, and whose situation of illegality has been denounced for three years by Citizens ", denounced the spokesman of the municipal group of Citizens.
