The Popular Party of Cehegín has asked the mayor of the town, José Rafael Rocamora, to present the request for the call for grants of 1.5% Cultural to the Ministry of Development for the restoration of the Casa de las Boticarias, so that a once the works are finished, it can be used for cultural and tourist purposes, as planned.

From the Popular Party have indicated that next June 28 the deadline to submit applications for these grants and have asked Rocamora "do not miss the opportunity that would involve getting funding for this work within the 'call for aid to finance works of conservation or enrichment of real estate within the "1.5% Cultural Program" of the Ministry of Development.

The 'popular' cehegineros have reminded that this building is municipal property since 2009 when it was purchased for 140,000 euros.

They have also shown that already during his tenure at the City of Cehegín were obtained from this grant more than 300,000 euros for Begastri, which could undertake the reconstruction of one of the entrances to the city, as well as the start-up of the visitor interpretation and reception center.

Also from the Popular Party have pointed out that "with this grant and the money that is foreseen for this work in the drinking water service contract could undertake an important project that culminated with the total restoration of this landmark building and its destination for activities of tourist and cultural field ".
