On May 29 the Municipal Table on Youth met.
This is an organ that meets every three months.
An organ of participation, of consultative and informative character, that promotes the exchange, putting in common and adoption of necessary solutions before the new needs that arise in relation to the attention and improvement of policies and actions in the matter of youth.
In this Municipal Youth Committee, the Councilor for Youth, Maravillas Fernández;
the one of Social Services, Antonia Fernandez, the councilman of Citizen Security and Sports, Joaquín López;
the directors of the Institutes, the Local Police Officer, the Betania Association;
also representatives of the AMPAS of the educational centers;
the FAMPA;
Youth correspondents, who have recently been included, Association of Merchants, as well as the Director of the Commonwealth of Social Services of the Northwest and a specialist in drug addiction of this entity
In the same, the Alternative Leisure Program was analyzed, which is being carried out in the locality.
As explained by the Youth Edil, "is having a success among young people, since there are more than one hundred enrolled."
Remember that these activities, which are carried out on weekends, are chosen by the young people themselves.
Those that have more acceptance, according to the own Youth Correspondents, are those of Parkour and Jugger.
He also said that the City Council will "continue to work so that every Friday and Saturday more people come to these workshops."
The Youth Edil, on the other hand, said that "on June 22 is going to make a party end of this program where there will be music, cold dinner and awards to participants who have attended this activity more times" .
Another issue to be addressed was the prevention of drug dependence.
It was stated that work continues with the New Regional Plan for the Prevention of Drug Addiction, through the Commonwealth of Social Services, in the different educational centers of the municipality.
We also work with different work groups and with different groups to develop it, as it was broken down in the Day that took place last February 23 in Caravaca.
Other tremors were also discussed, such as the analysis that was made of the I Youth Day, which took place in October last year in Cehegín.
As specified in this meeting, work will be done so that this year, again, it is carried out, creating a forum in which young people themselves participate in its preparation.
In it, the different presentations will, once again, focus on social skills and emotional education.
Finally, the Councilor for Education explained the Alternative Leisure Program for the holiday period, "which is being prepared in relation to the proposals made by our young people in the surveys carried out for the Participatory Budgets and other different ones that have been carried out for to decide what they want to do in these summer months "
The Edil finished making reference to those Participative Budgets that have had as main objective, according to commented, "to educate to our young people in the citizen participation".
Of these, we remember, some activities have come out, chosen through a vote, in which the ceheginero consistory will allocate a budget to the realization of them.
The activities chosen have been a HolyRun and film screenings.
