Citizens put in place a plan for the Cehegín educational centers to be cardioprotected areas (01/06/2018)

"We want this initiative not to be left alone in Cehegín and to spread throughout the Region," says local spokesman Jerónimo Moya

The orange training has been approved unanimously by its motion for students between 10 and 18 years receive a basic training of two hours a year, as proposed by the European declaration 'Kids Save Lives', for which the staff will be used municipal with formation and qualification in the matter, thanking the predisposition of the Cehegín City Council for its immediate implementation.

"The objective is to raise awareness about the importance of training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation from an early age, as a tool that can save lives.

On the other hand we propose to the regional government the study for the implantation in our schools and institutes of cardioprotected areas, and we also want this initiative not to remain in Cehegín, but to reach the entire Region, for which we urge the regional government to endow all schools with a defibrillator, a project that links perfectly with the school nursing project endowed in the regional budget thanks to Citizens, and that will be released in the coming days, "said local orange spokesman, Jerónimo Moya.

The initiative also urges the regional government to implement the school nursing program so that these professionals are responsible for these cardioprotected areas in schools.

Finally, the motion of Cs approved in the last Plenary also includes the holding of an informative talk in collaboration with the Association of Relatives and Affected by Cardiopathies and Sudden Death of the Region, D-heart, to which the orange spokesman wanted to thank work.

Aid to the cut flower sector

Citizens have also approved their motion unanimously to urge the regional government to implement a line of specific aid for the cut flower sector.

"This aid must include the necessary resources to expand and modernize its facilities, as well as to modernize the sector through R & D and active participation in international fairs," said Moya.

In the Region, cut flower production is concentrated in the riverside districts of the Argos River in Cehegín, Puerto Lumbreras and Alhama de Murcia.

With an annual turnover that exceeds 60 million euros, of which 20.5 million in 2017 come from exports, which has experienced a decline of 8%, the only negative data in the entire Spanish geography.

Of the 350 hectares cultivated in the Region, just over 200 are located in the districts of Cehegín.

On May 31, 2017, a motion was debated and unanimously approved at the Regional Assembly to implement a Strategic Plan of Support for the cut flower sector.

"Then we warned that a budget-free plan would be nothing more than a toast to the sun, and this year's regional budget does not include items for this or lines of aid for the modernization of facilities, investments, innovation and marketing for a sector that has been the only one in which there is a decrease in exports of 8% compared to the rest of autonomous communities that produce cut flowers in our country, "said the local spokesman.
