The room has received the name of "The Legacy of Don Antonino González Blanco".
Don Antonino was the first archaeologist who started digging in Begastri.
The opening ceremony began with the ribbon cutting by Don Antonino, the Mayor of Cehegín, José Rafael Rocamora, and the Councilor for Culture, Maravillas Fernández and the Vice Chancellor of the University of Murcia, Alicia Rubio Bañón.
Inside the room you can see part of the notebooks, photographs and drawings that Don Antonino has given to the City of Cehegín, the rest of the material is stored in the Municipal Archive.
With this new room two functions are fulfilled, the Mayor of Cehegín remarked, on the one hand we try to thank all that Don Antonino has done for Begastri and on the other we return to put in value this deposit that has given so much to Cehegín and so much remains to deliver.
After this, the municipal archaeologist, Francisco Peñalver Aroca, has explained the composition of the room, where you can review the progress of the excavations in Begastri.
In the room you can see the tools with which the different findings were classified.
After the inauguration, in a Museum crowded with the public, the last conference and concert that ends the cycle of conferences of the Museum was held, in the first place Antonio Espín has exposed the history of geology in Cehegín, after Gregorio Romero, has projected the video the geology in the Region of Murcia.
To conclude the event we have attended the concert of Victoria Cava, the soprano Ana Fernández and the pianist Yanira Carrillo.
