Four of the main leaders have entered prison
The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia and the Local Police of Cehegín have developed the Operation TREPACE, an investigation that has culminated, so far, with the arrest of 16 people, members of a criminal group led by a family clan, as presumed authors of the crimes of drug trafficking and belonging to a criminal organization.
In the six domiciliary searches, carried out in five homes and in a Cehegín workshop, more than 300 grams of cocaine, several doses of hashish and marijuana, cutting substance, four vehicles, a motorcycle and about 18,000 euros have been seized. the necessary tools for handling, dosing and sale.
Citizen collaboration
The investigation began in October last year, when the Benemérita learned, through the Local Police of Cehegín, of a series of neighborhood complaints that put in the spotlight an address, located in the old town of the municipality, where , supposedly, was trafficked with drugs.
The Civil Guard and the Local Police of Cehegín began the operation TREPACE with the establishment of numerous surveillance of the property, aimed at the identification of its residents, as well as the clarification of the alleged illicit activities developed in it.
These police devices allowed to identify three brothers who, apparently, were leading a criminal organization dedicated to the sale of narcotic substances in the northwest region of Murcia, for which they used other collaborators in charge of distributing the drug at retail.
Structured criminal organization
The investigators verified that the main leaders did not usually maintain contact with their buyers, except that they were people very close to them.
Each one of them had created their own network of collaborators, which they supplied with narcotic substances in a timely manner, to meet the requests of their 'clients'.
They also provided them with mobile phones that they used to arrange drug sales.
After more than two months of investigation, orders of entry and registration were requested from the judicial authority for six buildings (five houses and in a workshop), located in the municipality of Cehegín.
In an extensive police deployment formed by units of the Benemérita of citizen security and the Cynological Service, as well as the Local Police of Cehegín have been arrested 16 people as alleged authors of the crimes of drug trafficking and membership of a criminal organization.
Dismantled five drug outlets
The research carried out has shown that the buildings constituted a network of drug outlets, five of which, at least, are related to these criminal practices, where they have been seized plus 300 grams of cocaine, several doses of hashish and marijuana , cutting substance, four vehicles, a motorcycle and about 18,000 euros, as well as the necessary tools for handling, dosing and selling the drug.
The arrested men, of Spanish nationality (15) and English (1) and with ages between 25 and 47 years old, the drug and the seized effects, as well as the diligences instructed have been made available to the Court of Instruction number 2 of Caravaca de la Cruz, who has decreed the entry into prison of the four main leaders of the criminal organization.
Operation TREPACE has culminated with the dismantling of one of the criminal structures linked to drug trafficking, the most relevant of the Northwest Comarca.
The investigation continues open.
