The Director General of Environment, Maria Teresa Navarro, director of Rural Development, Julio Bernal, the mayor of Cehegin, Jose Soria, and Council of Forestry and Environment, Joaquín María Dolores Carrasco Marín, respectively, have visited Coto Real mountains of the municipality, in order to know the area where it will launch the pilot project 'Monte Model'.
This idea, proposed by the University of Rottenburg, brings together the Forestry Owners Association, Autonomous Region and the Municipality of Cehegin, and serve to highlight the value of forests and agricultural crops, with more emphasis on the use of forest biomass.
As stated by the Director of Rural Development, "Today we follow the agreement signed by the Community of Murcia and the German university, to exchange views and information, and raise the extension of this," while adding that "we have seen the possibility that these actions obtain funding from the European Union. "
The German teachers have explained that "the reason for this visit is to agree and unite experiences for forest application project, helping to create new expectations for small forest owners and people in rural areas."

The mayor has said that "Cehegín is engaged in the installation of a biomass plant, to make returns to the woods and create jobs."
